DOMINICA ERIKSEN is a photographer and graphic designer who was born in the foothills of Northern California and currently lives in New York City. She fell in love with photography at a young age, developing a taste for abstracts, portraiture, and documentary imagery. After receiving early recognition for her work, she graduated magna cum laude from CSU Sacramento with B.A.’s in Multimedia and Photography. Her work–which explores the relationship between contrast, shape, and mood–has been exhibited on both coasts.
Eriksen has worked for The Crocker Art Museum, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Condé Nast, among others. She continues to push her craft through classes, lectures, workshops, and community involvement. As a volunteer with a non-profit artist collaborative in Harlem, she is helping rebuild a darkroom with the goal of offering traditional photography workshops to local children. Fascinated with storytelling and the power of the moving image, she is currently pursuing her M.F.A. in Cinematography at New York University.
